Accessibility declaration

The Institute of Literary Research, as co-owner of the title „Napis. A Journal of Occasional and Applied Literature” (jointly with the University of Warsaw), undertakes to ensure the accessibility of the yearbook’s website in accordance with the provisions of the Act of April 4, 2019, on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 848). This accessibility declaration applies to the website https://napis.edu.pl/.

The website is partially compliant with the Act of April 4, 2019, on the Digital Accessibility of Public Entities’ Websites and Mobile Applications due to the incompatibilities or exclusions listed below:

  • Some graphic content and graphic elements do not have alternative descriptions.
    Some of the graphic content published on the website is not fully accessible due to the fact that it was created and made available online before the Digital Accessibility Act came into force.

The text on the website is machine-readable. Graphic materials in issue 29 (2023) have alternative descriptions of images and visual content prepared in accordance with the basic principles of audio description, available on the website of the “Cultures Without Barriers” Foundation (https://kulturabezbarier.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Audiodeskrypcja-zasady-tworzenia.pdf).

Information about the procedure

Everyone has the right to:

  • submit a request for access to inaccessible information and a complaint about a lack of accessibility,
  • submit a request to ensure the digital accessibility of a website, mobile application, or any element thereof,
  • request access to information in alternative formats, for example, reading a digitally inaccessible document, describing the content of a film without audio description, etc.

The request should include the following information:

  • contact details of the requesting person,
  • identification of the website or element of the website to be made digitally accessible,
  • information on how to contact the requesting person.

If the requesting person requests information via an alternative access method, they should also specify a convenient way to present this information.

he Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences will comply with the request promptly, no later than within 7 days of the request being submitted. If this deadline cannot be met, IBL PAN will immediately inform the requesting party and set a deadline for fulfilling the request, which may not be longer than two months from the date of the request. If ensuring digital accessibility proves impossible, IBL PAN may propose an alternative method of accessing the information.

If IBL PAN refuses to comply with the request for accessibility or an alternative method of accessing the information, the requesting party may submit a complaint regarding the digital accessibility of the website or website element via email: dostepnosc@ibl.waw.pl or by post to: Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, ul. Nowy Świat 72, 00-330 Warsaw. A complaint may also be submitted to the Commissioner for Human Rights: https://www.rpo.gov.pl.

Architectural accessibility

The editorial office of the “Napis” yearbook is located at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, ul. Nowy Świat 72, room 131, Warsaw.
The building has two entrances: through the Staszic Palace courtyard from Świętokrzyska Street and from ul. Nowy Świat (stairs without wheelchair access).
There are no signs for the blind and visually impaired (in Braille, contrasting colors, or enlarged print) on or inside the building.
There are no induction loops in the building. All rooms are accessible to people with assistance dogs and guide dogs.
The reception is located on the ground floor to the right of the entrance from ul. Nowy Świat, and the cloakroom is on the left.
An elevator (far right) provides wheelchair access to the first floor.
Only the corridor on the first floor is accessible to wheelchair users.
The accessible restroom is located on the ground floor, to the left of the entrance.
A designated disabled parking space is available in front of the building.
